Job Description
Analyze genetic sequences, including DNA, RNA, and protein sequences, using various bioinformatics tools and algorithms for genetic similarities and patterns and variation.
Develop and maintain algorithms and computational tools to detect duplications, copy number variants, and single-nucleotide polymorphisms using data generated from genome sequencing projects.
Create tools to create, manage, and analyze next-generation sequencing datasets using massively parallel computing infrastructure.
Develop programs and/or scripts, including graphical visualization software, to facilitate large-scale data mining of the genome, genetic, and expression databases.
Integrate analysis data into existing genome browsers.
Stay current with advances in biostatistics, epidemiology, and relevant scientific literature to inform study design and analysis methods.
Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to design study protocols, develop sampling strategies, and ensure appropriate data collection procedures.
Develop and present summary reports of results to cross-functional stakeholders.
Job Requirement
Bachelor’s or master degree in bioinformatics, computer sciences, or a related field.
3-5 years of working experience or Minimum of 2 years of bioinformatics or related research experience in data analysis of next-generation sequencing or whole-genome shotgun data.
Has previous background in PRS development
Experience with PacBio, Illumina, Thermofisher, 10X, or Strand-seq technologies
